Our Teams
USTS is a member of the Swiss Hockey Federation and the Suisse Romande Hockey Forum. Teams play in the national Swiss championship leagues and some of our players have played for national teams.
ADULTS
We have a ladies team and a mens team that play in the Swiss League.
USTS Field Hockey also offers an opportunity for adults to play and enjoy the sport on a recreational basis. They take part in friendly tournaments in the local region.
UNDER 18
The U18s have teams playing in the U18 Elite and U18 Challenge Swiss National league and take part in fixtures across Switzerland. They also have opportunities to trial for national teams, and a number of the juniors have been successful in becoming members of Regional and Swiss National Hockey squads.
UNDER 15
The U15s have elite mixed and girls teams playing in the Swiss National league and play fixtures against other teams across Switzerland. The U15 Challenge team plays against other local Suisse Romand teams with regular matches played in the local region. They also have opportunities to trial for national teams, and a number of the juniors have been successful in becoming members of the Regional and Swiss National Hockey squads.
UNDER 12
The U12s play in the mini hockey tournaments in the Swiss Léman region. They develop their skills while enforcing their good team play and social skills! The U12s play 7 a-side on half a pitch. There are mixed U12 tournaments for elite and challenge level and some girls only tournaments.
Under 10
The U10s play in mini hockey tournaments in the Swiss Leman region. There is a strong emphasis on progressing hockey skills, learning team play and continuing to have fun. The U10s play 6-aside with a goal keeper giving them the chance to learn to combine their individual skills with the wider team structure and tactics.
UNDER 8
The U8s play in mini hockey tournaments in the Swiss Leman region. A very social group with a strong emphasis on learning the fundamentals of hockey whilst having lots of fun! Games are 4 a-side with the chance for each team to shoot at two goals!
Girls Academy
A new initiative from USTS
The Girls Academy was launched as a new initiative to increase the participation of girls at the club in line with the wider sport agenda and to be a sport that is actively encouraging and retaining girls to a team sport, particularly as they reach teenage years.
It is open to girls aged 10 and above with training once a week on a Friday afternoon.

Becoming the leading team sport of choice for girls in the region has been highlighted as one of the main goals of USTS strategy over the next 5 years. The Girls Academy has already been a great success and we are well on our way to achieving this.

There is great co-operation between the girls teams representatives of all the other clubs in the region and girls hockey has gone from strength to strength because of this. The other clubs are also able to field regular girls teams at all age groups.

There are so many reasons why playing a team sport can positively influence girls in later life through teamwork, confidence and leadership. And add to that the fact that hockey helps increase co-ordination, balance, speed and strength – what is there not to love about it!
